Firm Announcements and Law Updates

How we are handling COVID-19

We take our health and the health of our clients very seriously. For some weeks now, we have limited access in the office and we have been sanitizing on a regular basis. We recognize that legal issues continue despite a tiny virus wreaking havoc on our world.

The Georgia Supreme Court issued an order that required our courts to halt any proceeding that was not essential and that order is set to expire April 13, 2020; however, with the Shelter in Place Order from Governor Kemp, we would expect the Supreme Court to issue another order extending the time period. Please know that we are working to get your legal issues resolved as best we can with the orders in place.

If you should need access to us, please do it via email. Any documents can be scanned/emailed, faxed, mailed or dropped off in our drop slot by our front door. Albert and Melissa are in the office on a fairly regular basis and can take appointments in emergency. Despite no court, there is still quite a bit of legal work to be done, so we continue to work either in office or remotely.

If your case is scheduled for trial, hearing, or mediation, we will be in touch with you about whether court will or will not happen. Most cases are being rescheduled for a date sometime in the future. Just be patient, as best you can.

We wish that everyone remain healthy and safe during this time and please heed the Governor’s order.
